M Le Magazine du Monde’s Latest Series of Covers Brilliantly Celebrate Mature Women

To say we, here at theFashionSpot, have been living for M Le Magazine du Monde over recent months would be a big understatement. Huge, in fact. The weekly supplement to France’s Le Monde newspaper, after all, has bestowed upon us forum faves Rianne van Rompaey, Awar Odhiang and Selena Forrest as cover girls of late, and editor Marie-Pierre Lannelongue makes a big, bold and impactful statement as she welcomes a selection of mature ladies as cover stars with the unveiling of the magazine’s latest.

Photographer Théo de Gueltzl and stylist Charlotte Collet team up for the occasion, perfectly documenting and cementing the notion style is eternal as a handful of stylish and über-chic older ladies assemble within the studio of the Paris-based lensman and artist, dressed in an array of looks from mega high-fashion brands such as Versace, Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana and Balenciaga.

“The special accessories issue of M Le magazine du Monde that highlights aging! In our youth-glorifying civilization, the elderly more often display the slowed elegance of wisdom than the slightly mad energy of fashion shows. Rather than professional models displaying a perfect silhouette under their beautiful silver hair, Théo de Gueltzl and Charlotte Collet wanted to appeal to “real people” and therefore asked their acquaintances, their friends’ parents, people rarely seen in a fashion series. These photos speak their joy to be in these images. And ours to publish them.”
