Carey Mulligan Covers the March 2021 Issue of British Harper’s Bazaar

There’s change in the air over at British Harper’s Bazaar and we’re excited. Lydia Slater has been on a mission to give us fresh new cover stars lately, like Lucan Gillespie and Iman. But now the mag brings back an old favorite for March 2021. Four-time cover star Carey Mulligan was captured by Quentin Jones with Cathy Kasterine on styling duties. The actress wears a bejeweled collar coat from Miu Miu’s Spring 2021 collection for the newsstand cover shot (below) and is all smiles on the joyous subscribers’ alternative (after the jump) decked out in a look from Prada’s Spring 2021 collection.

“Looks like she is about to fall asleep,” stated mikel.

“This will put the pensioners reading this magazine to sleep,” declared an uninterested Serend1pity.

“Sleep-inducing. Wake me up when a new issue is out. Lovely colors, though. That’s just about it,” added MON.

“She doesn’t look like a ‘bad’ girl to me on this cover. More like a bored girl. Why such a dull expression for a spring issue that’s supposed to be about the beginning of a new, lively season?” asked Benn98.

Sharing the same underwhelming sentiment was dfl-001: “Mind-numbingly dull. Why do they insist on using these actresses who illicit no excitement of any kind?”

“Must admit that unlike last month’s cover subject, the sight of Carey Mulligan on Bazaar‘s second biggest issue of the year didn’t exactly make me jump for joy. Neither the newsstand cover or subscribers’ cover is offensive on the eye, but I would’ve undeniably preferred more…oomph,” noted vogue28.

EricGallais described the cover as “sad,” but do you agree?
