As editor of W Magazine, Sara Moonves has made the magazine’s ‘Best Performances’ issues into a bit of a thing. Since 2021 when the annual edition first made its official appearance, issues have been photographed by an array of celebrated photographers including Juergen Teller, Tim Walker and Jamie Hawkesworth. Moonves welcomes back Teller with open arms for W‘s 2024 portfolio, bestowing upon us an assortment of 13 covers featuring a whole bevy of A-list talent. In each of the covers Margot Robbie, Nicolas Cage, Greta Lee, Zac Efron, Natalie Portman, Colman Domingo, Jodie Foster, Ryan Gosling, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Julianne Moore, Lily Gladstone, Charles Melton and Robert Downey Jr. pose before Teller’s lens around various different Hollywood locations.

The Golden Age of Hollywood experienced a bit of a rebirth on this year’s Oscars red carpet with several guests breaking out the va-va-voom in glamorous retro-inspired gowns (by thoroughly modern designers). Perhaps in an homage to the famous Oscar statue, gold was a popular hue and white certainly held its own with several sleek representatives. Vibrant shades of red, silver/gray gowns along with touches of velvet were also front and center. On the embellishment front, everything from fringe to feathers and lace made notable appearances. While there was a bevy of statement-making jewels and dynamic clutches, blue ribbons in support of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) were by far the night’s best accessory. This year, we were treated to a wide range of designer finds, from haute couture pieces just presented over the summer to an Yves Saint Laurent throwback (thank you, Taraji P. Henson). Much like the films on display, there was a lot of variety when it came to the fashions on parade. Everything from graphic patterns to extensive embellishments, breezy boho picks and the sheer trend were represented. If you traveled to Hollywood over the past week to do some stargazing, you were basically out of luck. Why? Because pretty much every A-list celeb was over in France at the annual Cannes International Film Festival — or so it seemed (if you don’t believe us, just check out the 90-plus slides above). The Clooneys held court at the Money Monster premiere, jury members Kirsten Dunst and Vanessa Paradis flexed their style muscles repeatedly while checking out the contenders and the L’Oréal Paris ambassadors represented the cosmetics giant throughout the festival in grand fashion. And we were a bit surprised to see all the risqué behavior at the notoriously conservative festival, from Julia Roberts ascending the Cannes staircase barefoot to one basically naked dress courtesy of Kendall Jenner. While Cannes regulars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor impressed as always, Araya A. Hargate and Li Yuchun really took the “go big or go home” mantra to heart by stepping out in several eye-popping pieces. Ryan Gosling is on Vine now, and it looks like he didn’t join just for the sole purpose of goofing around and blessing us with videos of his most perfect countenance. The actor used his first Vine as an opportunity to pay homage to Vine star Ryan McHenry, who passed away this weekend after a two-year-long battle with osteosarcoma. McHenry is the brain behind the hilarious “Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal” meme and Gosling himself took to Vine to offer a tribute to McHenry and his sense of humor.

In the Vine, we see Gosling pouring a bowl of cereal – and actually eating it. Gosling tweeted some kind words about McHenry to go along with the video. 

My heart goes out to all of Ryan McHenry’s family and friends. Feel very lucky to have been apart of his life in some small way.

The meme McHenry created became so popular that Gosling actually started getting questions as to whether or not he likes cereal. Last month, Gosling (we’re assuming) jokingly tweeted to McHenry that he would never forgive him for the web phenomenon.
