The 2016 MTV Movie Awards were naturally all about celebrating the year’s best moments in film, kicking off with a grand Mad Max: Fury Road-themed opening courtesy of hosts Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. Previews of Suicide Squad and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them made big splashes at the ceremony as did Salt-N-Pepa’s serenade of “Shoop” to mark Ryan Reynolds’ Best Comedic Performance win. Even with all the cinematic eye candy, we were definitely more focused on the fashion. There were a lot of black dresses and outfits on the red carpet. Halter necklines, tons of lace and sheer details also proved popular. For the most part, accessories remained relatively low-key with the exception of one very complex set of shoes.
