Gucci’s Holiday 2023 Campaign Celebrates Togetherness

The unveiling of every new Gucci advertising campaign continues to demonstrate Sebato De Sarno’s vision for the storied Italian fashion house. First came Daria Werbowy (breaking the internet), Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny roamed the airport a little while later and more recently, Billie Eilish was selected by De Sarno to showcase Gucci’s first-ever vegan handbag. Now, in the run up to the joyous festive season, De Sarno’s first holiday campaign under his direction as creative director is here which celebrates the spirit of togetherness. For a gathering filled with joy and warmth (in addition to an array of covetable Gucci merch), friends and family assemble before the lens of photographer Anthony Seklaoui throughout the festive campaign.

Members of our forums, however, weren’t in the mood to celebrate upon checking out Gucci’s latest. “Not a random tattoo being the focal point instead of the bag . The dirty carpet and party theme doesn’t work that well. No new clothes! Those burgundy fishnets and that Gucci plaque belt have been out. What is being sold here?” asked Nimsay.

“The more and more I see of Sabato De Sarno’s Gucci, the more and more I am starting to intensely dislike this new partnership. Another horrid and total non-event of a campaign…” wrote vogue28.

“Looks like an amateur version of Tom Ford’s Gucci,” Urban Stylin pointed out.

Also majorly underwhelmed was tigerrouge: “This has the feel of a Christmas campaign by River Island, or any other store on the high street.”

“It’s not bad, it’s not that good or captivating either,” voiced Yassous. “It looks like something Ferragamo or any mid-level Italian brand would’ve done a few years ago. Some of that ‘sexiness’ they are chasing is reminiscent of 2010s Gucci campaigns.”
