]]>At the helm of Vogue Korea, Shin Kwang-ho has managed to successfully mix a blend of both homegrown talents and international faces when it comes to selecting the magazine’s cover stars. Korean stars such as Jennie Kim of Blackpink, Jimin of the band BTS and the actress Jun Ji-hyun fronted covers throughout 2023 while international faces included Lila Moss, Naomi Campbell and América González. Kwang-ho kick-starts 2024 by welcoming Lulu Tenney as Vogue Korea’s January 2024 cover girl, who poses for photographer Davit Giorgadze. Styled by Dogi Nesanir, the American model wears a fringed suit from Matthieu Blazy’s Spring 2024 collection for Bottega Veneta in the chic and minimalist cover image.
Vogue Korea’s latest left members of our forums divided. “Awful styling and proportions,” an underwhelmed kokobombon critiqued.
“Very basic,” MON chimed in.
“Personally, I don’t think this cover has a good feel,” ERIKMISUN pointed out.
Hafyiez wafa commented: “I’m do not understand Vogue Korea’s aesthetic. Could they be more creative?”
Also not exactly thrilled with the outcome was crmsn: “I don’t really hate it, but it’s not what I expected from them after their October-December covers. It’s just so… basic. Even the layout looks outdated!”
“Not the most visually-arresting Korean Vogue cover I’ve came across but compared with most other editions of Vogue, I do quite like this. The colors are gorgeous!” confessed vogue28.

]]>The relationship between Dolce & Gabanna and Steven Meisel continues to go from strength to strength, and you’ve been missing out (big style) if you weren’t aware the Italian designers had began to recommission the master photographer to lens their advertising campaign imagery. The return to glory first started mid-2023 when Mariacarla Boscono became the face of D&G’s Summer 2023 collection and the party continued into the Fall 2023 season with a sultry Maya Jama posing for Meisel. Much to our delight, Meisel and stylist Karl Templer remain onboard for Pre-Spring 2024, with Lulu Tenney (in addition to male models Yoesry Detre, Xu Meen and Habib Masovic) coming along for the ride throughout the series of flawless studio-shot campaign imagery.
“Stellar!! Meisel is bringing his A game for Dolce & Gabbana and I’m all here for it,” raved aracic.
“This is beyond good. Lulu has transformed into one of the most capable models of her generation,” forum member youarearockstar instantly approved.
Sharing the same enthusiasm was fenty: “Lulu is FAB and she’s selling it!”
“This campaign is amazing!! Lulu really nailed it,” applauded couturefan.
Vogue28 was also full of praise, adding: “Divine, absolutely divine campaign. Never been a one to rave about Lulu Tenney but she is selling it here like there’s no tomorrow So bright, vibrant, polished, glossy, glamorous – I could go on and on!”
“Meisel + D&G = Perfection,” calculated an elated lanvinray.

]]>Selena Gomez has been pretty much a constant on the covers of Vogue, ever since Vogue Brazil welcomed the American hitmaker onto her very first back in June 2016. Covers for Vogue Australia (on two seperate occasions), Vogue Singapore and American Vogue (again, twice) have since followed. Karla Martínez de Salas is quick to welcome Gomez back onto the cover of Vogue Mexico with the unveiling of the magazine’s January 2024 installment, as she’s captured all smiles for photographer Michael Bailey-Gates. Posing beside two giant floral displays in the charming cover photograph, the now 8-time Vogue cover girl is dressed by stylist Clare Byrne in a look from Prada’s Spring 2024 collection.
“This is so wrong… Selena looks like she wants to pee! She is going strong to be the singer with the worst covers in history. I still have NIGHTMARES about the tragedy that is her cover for V Magazine!” DK92 exclaimed.
“Why this? Starting off 2024 bad Vogue Mexico. They need a new team, obviously…” called out Xone.
“Aaaayyyyyy noo,” shrieked oaklee91, suggesting they’d seen better covers.
The Ghost of the Castle asked, “Is Selena Gomez even an ambassador to any fashion brand right now?”
“Seriously, will anything ever compare to when Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott photographed Selena for American Vogue‘s April 2017 issue? To this day, it remains the gold standard of Selena’s magazine covers and apparently no other creative individual wishes to outdo it,” noted vogue28.

]]>And so the 2024 awards season has officially begun…
Last night, Hollywood stars descended upon the iconic Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills for the 81st annual Golden Globe awards. Stars like Margot Robbie dazzled in sequined Giorgio Armani Privé (channeling Barbie, because what else?), Taylor Swift shone bright in custom lime green Gucci while the living legend that is Meryl Streep walked the red carpet in a shimmering Dolce & Gabbana floor-length skirt and jacket. Selena Gomez had somewhat of a mini Marilyn Monroe moment before the lens of the paparazzi, wearing a ruby red dress and the even the warm Los Angeles wind understood the assignment when Hunter Schafer arrived in custom translucent Prada. Elsewhere, Jennifer Lopez nailed old-school Hollywood glamour while Elle Fanning took deep in the Balmain archives to unearth and revive a vintage Pierre Balmain dress.
Needless to say, the 2024 Golden Globe Awards proved to be an absolute fashion extravaganza and we here at theFashionSpot have curated the must-see looks of the night. Scroll further our selection:

]]>As editor of W Magazine, Sara Moonves has made the magazine’s ‘Best Performances’ issues into a bit of a thing. Since 2021 when the annual edition first made its official appearance, issues have been photographed by an array of celebrated photographers including Juergen Teller, Tim Walker and Jamie Hawkesworth. Moonves welcomes back Teller with open arms for W‘s 2024 portfolio, bestowing upon us an assortment of 13 covers featuring a whole bevy of A-list talent. In each of the covers Margot Robbie, Nicolas Cage, Greta Lee, Zac Efron, Natalie Portman, Colman Domingo, Jodie Foster, Ryan Gosling, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Julianne Moore, Lily Gladstone, Charles Melton and Robert Downey Jr. pose before Teller’s lens around various different Hollywood locations.
“Honestly, not sure what to think of these…” shared Ivancica the moment the covers dropped.
“These are all depressing to look at. Juergen even managed to make Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling look lifeless,” chimed in gunsnroses.
Also left severely disappointed was forum member lookatme, commenting: “Tragic. This kind of photography and concept is so embarrassing. OMG SO QUIRKED UP! THEY’RE IN A TRASHY SOUVENIR SHOP! HE’S HOLDING A LOBSTER! OMG!”
Xone felt the same way: “Teller needs a better direction, there is nothing interesting here – too pretentious!”
“These best performances issues by Juergen Teller (and everyone else) are the absolute worst when it comes to Sara Moonves’ W Magazine! Not one, not ONE redeeming cover and this is one of those occasions in which I cannot abide Teller’s photography or aesthetic. Major… UGH!” ranted vogue28.

]]>It’s official: David Sims is a firm fave of Sabato De Sarno. From the get-go, Gucci’s newly-instated creative director has insisted the brand’s studio-designed Fall 2023 collection be documented by Sims (showcased by model Vittoria Ceretti in the campaign) and called upon the celebrated British photographer for the Italian fashion house’s buzz-worthy jewelry campaign starring comeback queen Daria Werbowy.
De Sarno summons Sims once again with the unveiling of the Italian designer’s first official mainline advertising campaign for the Spring 2024 season, ushering in a whole new look for the brand first established in 1921. Wiping the slate clean for a new creative vision, a selection of models assemble within Sims’ photographic studio against a clean white backdrop. Complete with styling from Alastair McKimm, the fresh faces include Fadia Ghaab, Ana Rossolovich, Jiahui Zhang, Nyajuok Gatdet and Violet Hume.
“It’s a lifeless campaign from the backdrop to the group chemistry of the models. Super disappointing after such a promising start with the Daria Werbowy campaign,” said GERGIN.
“It’s clearly an attempt to reference the Fall 2004 Gucci ad but fails miserably to deliver anything,” voiced an underwhelmed grimm.
Also unimpressed was forum member tatouejeremie, adding: “A logo hoodie in a campaign in 2024? Must be a dire situation at Gucci!”
“The models have no energy, the clothes are bland, the setting is non existent and the photography is lazy,” complained GivenchyAddict.
In complete agreement was Marc10: “This collection desperately needed a strong, dynamic campaign with a star model to help elevate the clothes and create some sort of fantasy and desire. A white backdrop with bland new faces was literally the worst way to go. Terrible.”
Lookatme described the outcome as “abysmal” but do you agree?

]]>Major fashion brands have insisted the fashion pack travel to numerous different countries across the globe for their Pre-Fall 2024 presentations. Balenciaga staged its latest fashion showcase extravaganza on location in Los Angeles and Chanel traveled to Manchester. Maria Grazia Chiuri, however, is remaining in Paris with the unveiling of Christian Dior’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection. Grazia took inspiration from Marlene Dietrich, who was a Christian Dior client and was famously quoted as saying “No Dior, no Dietrich” when Alfred Hitchcock selected the German actress for the role in the 1950’s film Stage Fright. As a result, the collection oozes a boyish charm with the silhouettes taking major influence from the 19th century. Dior’s first female creative director also took inspo from New York City and Monsieur Dior’s take on serving the American market in the late 1940s.
“Very late-stage John Galliano.” [GoldenPetals]
“MGC needs to get more into her Galliano bag. her clothes are only interesting when she does. Oherwise it’s just chic and boring.” [gallianostan]
“115 looks just to let us know how good the whole film set is.” [jeanclaude]
“Heels are nice, some of the pants are great too, but overall it’s giving 1930s depression era socialite lesbian.” [disco54]
“That would be decent costume designs for a period WWII drama movie, so the complete antithesis of Christian Dior designs…” [yslforever]
“One of the most bland and boring collections I’ve seen in a long time. And basically it doesn’t even look French so it doesn’t look Dior. Really unappealing and quite depressing too.” [Abracai]

]]>The post 10 of the Most Ridiculously Fabulous Pieces From Pharrell’s Debut Louis Vuitton Collection appeared first on theFashionSpot.
]]>For some of us fashion folk, the debut Spring 2024 collection of Pharrell Williams as Louis Vuitton’s menswear creative director is still fresh in our minds. Back in June, the American record producer-turned-designer staged his first Louis Vuitton offering and closed off the famous Pont Neuf bridge in Paris for the occasion – to much fanfare. Attended by the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna and Zendaya, Pharrell’s showcase was full of cultural significance and reimagined LV iconography. The buzz-worthy collection has since made its way into Louis Vuitton stores across the globe and is now readily available online for purchase. Here at theFashionSpot, we have handpicked just 10 of the most ridiculously fabulous pieces to swoon over.
Scroll further for jackets costing $150,000.00 (yes, seriously), some must-have cozy shearling boots and even an exclusively made-to-order skateboard:
Creative Director Pharrell Williams revisits the iconic Speedy P9 Bandoulière 50 Monogram Leather bag in luxuriously soft and supple calfskin with a bold primary colorway. The Monogram is printed on the Speedy using a sophisticated silk-screen technique that reproduces the twill aspect of the Monogram on canvas, a blurry, almost hand-painted effect ($12400.00).
The LV Super Vision Round Sunglasses appeared as a key accessory in Pharrell Williams’s Men’s Spring-Summer 2024 Show for Louis Vuitton. The stylish signature frames are crafted from rubber-effect nylon and the dark grey lenses are framed in silver-color metal. The removable lens caps display the House’s signature, which is reprised on the temples ($795.00).
The Louis Vuitton Sandwich Bag is made from supple cowhide leather in exactly the same color as the House’s famed shopping bags. And features the same “Louis Vuitton” and “Maison Fondée En 1854” lettering found on the bags. Inside there’s a zipped pocket and a double flat pocket to keep things organized ($3350.00).
This aviator blouson from the SS24 Show is given a luxurious twist in grained calfskin, ennobled with a tonal embroidered allover LV Blason. It has a soft tonal mink collar for warmth, while a martingale construction at the back adds an elegant sartorial detail. This refined piece is perfect both for city strolls and weekend getwaways ($11200.00).
For S/S 2024, Pharrell Williams launches a new product to display your favorite pair of shoes: the Shoe Box ($18800.00).
The LV Footprint low boot was one of the statements of Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2024 men’s show, designed by Pharrell Williams. The upper is crafted from soft, cozy shearling, which is printed with an oversized Monogram pattern. The rubber outsole was inspired by a bear’s paw print and is decorated with House signatures ($2470.00).
For his first show, Pharrell Williams introduces the copper line on hardsided pieces. This animation will please any Louis Vuitton collector, seeking exceptional, one-of-a-kind pieces ($34000.00).
This track top from the SS24 Show is made from cotton ennobled with pearls. Applied by hand, they outline the collar, zip closure and pockets and create a striking relief effect along the sleeves. A pearl-embroidered LV patch on the chest completes this sophisticated piece, which has matching jogpants for a total look ($7450.00).
This LV x Henry Taylor skateboard is a true collector’s item, exclusively made to order. The deck bears a bold LV signature, while the underside features the distinctive acrylic-paint portrait work of Californian artist Henry Taylor. Polished gold-tone trucks create a striking contrast with the board’s predominantly brown colorway. A magnificent gift for the skate devotee ($3700.00).
This Made to Order baseball jacket captures the essence of the SS24 Show’s sophistication. Crafted from crocodile skin, it is meticulously assembled by hand. Contrasting crocodile patches add graphic signatures, with this collection’s emblematic LV Lovers logo across the chest and an LV Eiffel Tower on the left sleeve. This remarkable piece offers the perfect blend of comfort and elegance ($153000.000).

]]>The post Steven Meisel’s Joyous & Playful Chanel Chance Fragrance Campaign Feels “Like a Breath of Fresh Air” for 2024 appeared first on theFashionSpot.
]]>Chanel is commencing the new year by ushering in a vibrant, youthful and unapologetically joyful advertising campaign for its line of Chance fragrances. Back in 2015, the fabled French fashion house’s previous Chance campaign invited us into a fantasy-filled bowling alley (as imagined by famed French creative Jean-Paul Goude). We witnessed a jubilant dance audition via the lens of Goude also for the 2019 installment and make no mistake we’re back amongst the fun for 2024.
This time, however, Chanel opted to commission the renowned French film director Jean-Pierre Jeunet for the dazzling funfair-inspired commercial, in addition to hiring Steven Meisel to capture the accompanying print campaign. Amiah Miller, Zuza Bryk, Mathilda Gvarliani and Maty Fall embody the four Chanel Chance fragrances for the occasion, each sat perched atop giant oversized bottles of the scent and dressed in looks evoking the spirit of the brand during the 90s.
“Looks like Anna Sui by Meisel,” voiced Scotty.
Avonlea002 agreed, echoing: “Yikes, indeed very Anna Sui. The retouching is absurd. Their legs looks like sausages.”
Yet not everyone was left so underwhelmed. “Love the print campaign, it is fun and fashionable. Great, fresh casting too,” approved MModa.
“Steven Meisel’s print campaign imagery feels like a total breath of fresh air! I love how fresh, vibrant, youthful and playful the images themselves are. Also adore the styling with those 90s-inspired cropped jackets and how each look complements the Chance bottle – very nicely done. Maty Fall’s smile here is a delight,” raved forum member vogue28.
“Fun campaign,” admired couturefan.
Check out the accompanying commercial directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and share your thoughts with us over on theFashionSpot forums, here.

]]>Make no mistake that from the moment Margaret Zhang got her foot under the desk as editor-in-chief of Vogue China, she has championed and supported homegrown talent – especially that of Chinese fashion models. Last year, Zhang gave up the Chinese fashion bible’s front covers to everyone from Fei Fei Sun and Shu Pei to Lina Zhang and He Cong. To kick-start 2024, Zhang welcomes Chu Wong as the magazine’s January 2024 cover star. Across a duo of covers, the Chinese beauty who is one of the current faces of Louis Vuitton poses for photographer Huang Jiaqi on location under gloomy grey skies and a rugged landscape which makes for a visually-arresting backdrop. Dressed by stylist Vivienne Sun, Wong wears pieces from Prada’s Spring 2024 collection in the two cover photographs.
“Every issue of Vogue China under the new editor feels the same. It’s all so boring,” blueorchid critiqued.
Also majorly underwhelmed was vogue28: “The second cover with the maroon-colored Prada is abysmal, as if the month of January isn’t dismal enough already! The red of the Prada skirt on the first cover does help brighten the gloomy (albeit stunning) backdrop in the first cover somewhat, which I am able to appreciate. What a pair of weak covers from Vogue China!”
Forum member crmsm ultimately disagreed, commenting: “Beautiful covers!”
“Very easy on the eyes, I’m thoroughly enjoying everything,” oaklee91 approved.
